6 large green onions (1 bunch sliced)

2 green peppers (cleaned and cut into small pieces)

1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)

1 bunch celery, sliced (about half inch pieces)

3 to 4 carrots (diced or cut into small pieces)

½ head cabbage (chopped)

1 package (Lipton) onion soup mix

1 or 2 cubes of bouillon (optional)

1 48 oz can V8 juice (optional)

8 cups of water (or 12 cups if you do not use the V8 juice)

Season to taste (salt*, pepper, parsley, curry, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, etc.)
* Try to avoid using salt as a seasoning especially if you use bouillon cubes. Salt should be avoided during any diet.
Wash vegetables thoroughly and cut. In a large pot bring the water to a boil and add vegetables (continue boiling for 10 minutes). Slowly add the tomatoes, onion soup mix, bouillon, and V8 juices then add seasoning. Simmer or slow cook for about one to two hours.
